AT&T to buy Wi-Fi provider Wayport for $275 million November 6th, 2008 WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - AT&T Inc. on Thursday said it will acquire privately held Wayport Inc. for $275 million in cash, sharply expanding the number of Wi-Fi hotspots where AT&T customers can get free Internet access. AT&T said the acquisition would increase its hot spots to 20,000 in the U.S. and 80,000 globally. Major hotels served by Wayport include Wyndham, Marriott Vacation Club and Four Seasons hotels. Wayp
